The Trinity

There is only one God and He exists in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Isaiah 48:16-17; Matthew 28:19; John 14:23-26; 2 Corinthians 13:14

  1. God the Father is the creator and sustainer of all things, who created man in His own image and called man back to Himself through Christ after the fall. Genesis 1:1; Genesis 1:26-27; Nehemiah 9:6; Revelation 4:11
  2. All things were made through the Son, Jesus Christ, whose sinless life, death, and resurrection provide the only way to salvation. Matthew 1:18; John 3:16-17; John 14:6; Acts 4:11-12; 1 Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 5:8-9
  3. The Holy Spirit empowers believers for service and witness, cleanses man from the old nature and conforms him to the image of Christ. The evidence of the Holy Spirit is the fruits and gifts of the Holy Spirit. John 14:26; Romans 8:26; Galatians 5:22-23

The Bible

The Bible, containing the Old and New Testaments, is the only infallible, inspired Word of God, and is the source of all doctrine, instruction, correction and reproof.(Joshua 1:8; Matt. 24:35; Romans 15:4; 2 Timothy 3:16)

Atonement

Christ’s death on the cross paid the penalty for the sins of the whole world, but its benefits are only applicable to those who receive Jesus as their personal Savior. (2 Corinthians 5:21; Ephesians 1:7; Hebrews 9:22-28; 1 Peter 1:18-19)

Salvation

Sin separates man from a Holy and Righteous God, which results in eternal separation from God for anyone who does not turn to Jesus Christ for salvation. Salvation involves repentance, belief in the Lord Jesus as Savior (justification) and obedience to Him as Lord (regeneration).(John 1:8; John 3:16; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23; Romans 9:8; Romans 10:9-10; Romans 12:2; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 2:16; Ephesians 1:4-5; Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 13:5; 1 John 10:28)

The Christian Life

Salvation should produce a lifestyle of loving obedience and service to Jesus Christ our Savior. To remain faithful through all circumstances of life requires dependence upon the Holy Spirit and a willingness to die to personal desires and passions.(Romans 7:18-25; Galatians 5:16-26; Ephesians 6:10-18; Titus 2:14; 1 Peter 5:8-11)

The Church

The Church is the body of believers who join together to serve Jesus Christ. The goal of the Church is to make disciples of all nations. The Church promotes sound teaching, prays, provides fellowship and encouragement and motivates one another to acts of love and good works.(Matthew 28:18-20; Ephesians 2:19-22; Ephesians 4:11-16; 1 Timothy 3:1-13; Titus 1:6-9; Hebrews 10:23-25; 1 Peter 2:9-12)

Baptism & the Lord’s Supper

Jesus instructed believers to participate in two ordinances. Baptism is a sign of what God has already done in one’s life and a testimony that they now belongs to Jesus. The Lord’s Supper is a remembrance of the death of the Lord and is done until He comes again. (Matthew 28:19; Luke 22:15-20; Romans 6:3-4; 1 Corinthians 11:23-34; Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 2:12)

Marriage

Marriage was set in place by God, joining one man and one woman in an exclusive union. God intends intimacy to occur only within the marriage relationship; all sexual activity outside of marriage is sin.(Genesis 2:23-25; Malachi 2:14-16; Matthew 19:3-12; 1 Corinthians 6:9-20; Ephesians 5:25-33; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5; Hebrews 13:4)

Eschatology

One day Christ will return in bodily form to this earth, the saints will be resurrected, and the millennium and final judgment will occur. Whether one has a personal relationship with Christ will determine whether he spends eternity enjoying God’s love forever or in torment, separated from God’s love. (Matthew 24:4-44; Matthew 25:31-46; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 20-22)
