At Renovation, we believe that being baptized is an important decision in an individual's life, made when they understand what salvation, baptism, and following Jesus means. It doesn't mean you have to know everything, but it should be an informed decision and a wholehearted commitment.
We want to create a partnership between families and Renovation as each person grows in his or her walk with Jesus. If someone in your family expresses interest in being baptized, we encourage you to talk with them about what baptism means. If needed, we can provide you with information to guide that decision.
The Bible teaches...
Baptism is a way of showing others that you follow Jesus Christ. Every person who believes in Christ should be baptized.
Baptism doesn’t make you a believer, but it shows what takes place in your heart at the time of salvation.
Baptism shows that you...
- Already believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
- Share in Christ's death and resurrection, illustrated by going under the water (dead to your old life), then rising again (new life)
- Were symbolically washed clean, because your sins were forgiven by his death on the cross
